Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha seats in India

Lok Sabha and Rajya sabha consists of 552 and 250 seats respectively in India’s Parliament.  Rajya Sabha(Council of States) and Lok Sabha(House of People) are also known as “ Upper House” and “ Lower House” respectively. 

Lok Sabha seats state-wise:

Lok Sabha consists of 552 seats. The seats distribute 530 seats into states, 20 seats into Union territories, and 2 seats into Anglo-Indian communities nominated by the President of India.  Members of Lok sabha elect through the direct election on basis of adult suffrage  For the equal representation of states, seats distributed on basis of the ratio between the number of seats allotted to each state and the population of the state.

Rajya Sabha Seats State wise:

Rajya Sabha consists of 250 seats in which 238 seats distribute into states and Union territories, and 12 members nominated by the President of India. Nominated members in Rajya Sabha have specialization in science, literature, art, and social science.
